Jarrow Girls say Howway, thanks to Schiedel Chimneys
Schiedel Says Howway the Lasses!
The UK’s leading manufacturer of stainless steel chimney systems, Schiedel Rite-Vent has moved into Football. The company has agreed to sponsor Jarrow Football Club’s Girls’ Under 15 team in a £1000 deal which will see the girls appearing in a brand new strip, and will help them meet the costs of the team as it battles its way to success!
Michael Ball, the Managing Director of Schiedel, is extremely enthusiastic to be supporting the girls as they develop their game and place their matches. “We are keen to support the local community, and the younger generation. Sport gets youngsters away from the TV, and pursuing a healthy lifestyle.”
Ian Lester is manager and secretary of the Girls’ Team, as well as being secretary of Darlington’s popular Total Soccer Centre. He describes how much Schiedel’ s sponsorship means to the team: “I live in Darlington – and local teams are frequently struggling to get sponsors who are real community players – who understand the need and the costs involved in running training sessions and holiday clubs. We really benefit when a local business gives us this kind of support – it enables us to provide new kit, pay Pitch fees, League Fees, Referee Fees, and meet the costs of Indoor Training with Floodlights as well as the strips. With a set of strips costing in the region of£500, without the support of Schiedel it would not have been possible.”
The up and coming girls team plays across the Russell Foster League playing anywhere from the Tees to the Tyne. The league was formed in 1975 to provide football facilities for youngsters in the local community in the region. It now has 434 teams competing in 37 divisions covering age groups from under 9’s to under 18’s.
The new strips feature the team’s colours and Schiedel’ s Logo – acknowledging the way all teams need community players who are prepared to lend their support from the touchline, and help pay the bills.
