Where’s the Beef?

Glendale PR wins contract to represent National Beef Association

Key client addition for Northumberland and Borders rural specialist

Chris MallonGlendale PR & Marketing has won the contract to provide public relations services to the National Beef Association (NBA).

The Wooler-based business will be promoting the NBA’s announcements and events, including the key beef industry event, NBA Beef Expo 2014 and the National Spring Spectacular Show, which returns to the NBA’s headquarters at Hexham Mart in May.

Glendale PR & Marketing has worked with Northumberland and Borders businesses to promote their interests for almost 20 years. The company has a strong focus on rural clients, many of which are now market leaders, and provides the full PR and marketing service including event management and product launches.

The NBA joins a list of clients and projects including the Northumberland Monitor Farm, NSA North Sheep, Flodden 1513, The Glendale Agricultural Society, and Northumbrian Quality Feeds.

Glendale PR & Marketing managing director, Barbara Huddart, said: “This is a big year for the NBA with Beef Expo returning to Northumberland for the first time in four years, and we’re looking forward to promoting this key industry event.

“The NBA is a great fit with our other rural clients. Glendale PR & Marketing is a specialist in representing rural business and we have excellent relations with media outlets interested in this sector.

“We’ll be getting to grips with the NBA’s work – not just Beef Expo, but in promoting the organisation’s wider aims to boost the British beef industry.”

The NBA represents the interests of the British cattle industry from farm to fork and works to improve standards and pass on new developments throughout the supply chain. The association also offers expert views on issues affecting the beef sector.

NBA chief executive Chris Mallon said: “We’re delighted to have a public relations specialist of the calibre of Glendale PR & Marketing on the team.

“Glendale stood out for us because of the company’s huge experience in working with rural businesses and associations.

“With Glendale PR & Marketing on board, we’re expecting to see even bigger interest in and people attending this year’s NBA Beef Expo.”

Beef Expo, which takes place on May 21 and 22, includes farm tours, plus professional and grassroots showing at the National Spring Spectacular Show, which has a total prize fund of £6,000. The annual beef industry showcase also provides a forum for producers and visitors to learn about the latest technical developments in the industry.
